What if Spirit doesn't want to talk?
It can happen. . .
Another question I’ve received is, “What if my loved one in spirit doesn’t want to talk to me?”
I wish I could say that I, or any other Medium, can always guarantee a connection with a specific individual but that is not always the case.
One situation I’ve encountered a couple of times is trying to connect with a person who was not a big talker in life, someone who tended to stand back and observe first.
We do change and grow when we get to the other side, but some progress and change more slowly than others .
I had a really clear example of this with a client recently. We had a very productive session, there were multiple friends and relatives coming through one after another with great details and specific memories.
Towards the end of the session, I asked the client if there was anyone she was hoping to hear from who had not come forward yet.
She said, “Yes, my husband.” She gave me his name to focus on and I saw a man come in, give me a smile and cross his arms as if to say, “Nope. Not doing it.”
“It looks like he does not want to talk for some reason.”, I said.
She laughed and said, “That is just like him!”
She explained that he was a quiet guy and because of the vibe I got from him, I asked, “Would you also say that he didn’t necessarily believe in this kind of thing?”
She smiled and said, “That is true.”
Out of curiosity, I invited this client to sit for the Mediumship Development Group I work with once weekly. Mediumship is a life-long practice and we are constantly learning, I equate this to doing Continuing Education Classes during my career as an Acupuncturist, it is absolutely necessary - and it’s fun to have the camaraderie.
We never share information with one another about the Sitter, so the other group members knew nothing about her.
The same thing happened. Her whole gang of people in spirit showed up, except for her husband. At the end of the night she asked if anyone could connect to him, but was not interested in speaking to any one of us.
It is possible that this will change over time, it is very clear that we learn and grow on the other side, I have seen great change in spirits I have connected with over a period of time and they are very pleased to share what they have learned.
I look forward to checking in in a year or so to see if he is ready to uncross his arms and have a chat. :D
